The Kitchen Wall is a living-room board for Apple TV. This policy explains what personal data we process, why, how long we keep it, where it is processed, and the rights you may have under laws such as the GDPR and UK GDPR.

On the Apple TV, much configuration stays on your device. Apple is a separate controller for App Store account, purchase, and device data under Apple’s own policies. Third-party calendar, photo, news, and weather providers are separate controllers for data they hold when the TV (or our short name-lookup fetch) contacts them.
The Kitchen Wall has two parts:
We do not run user accounts on the server, we do not permanently store your feed or calendar URLs, we do not sell personal data, and we do not upload your photos or calendar events to The Kitchen Wall as a cloud library.
We also do not use advertising SDKs, analytics trackers, or cross-site marketing cookies on the pairing site.

We do not rely on consent for the core pairing flow: you initiate pairing and paste your own links so we can provide the service you asked for.
When you open Settings on the Apple TV, the app can create a short-lived pairing session on this site (shown as a QR code or an 8-character code).

You can remove sources or reset app data using Apple TV Settings / The Kitchen Wall settings screens. Deleting the app removes its local data, subject to how tvOS manages app storage.

Those providers have their own privacy policies. The Kitchen Wall only requests what is needed to show the board. During pairing, this website may contact the same kinds of public URLs solely to resolve a display name.
Apple processes purchases, device identifiers, and related App Store data under Apple’s policies when you download or buy the app. Hosting and network providers that carry HTTPS traffic for this site may process technical logs under their roles as processors or service providers, limited to operating the service.
The pairing service is operated from infrastructure that may be located in the United States (or another country outside your own). If you use pairing from the EEA, UK, or Switzerland, that means personal data in a session (such as URLs you paste and your IP for rate limiting) may be processed in the United States.
We limit what we transfer by design: sessions are short-lived, we do not keep a permanent archive of your feeds, and we do not use the pairing site for advertising profiles. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards recognized under applicable law for such transfers, and on the necessity of processing to provide the service you request.
Content fetched by your Apple TV from third-party calendars, albums, feeds, or weather APIs is transferred according to those providers’ locations and policies—not through a lasting The Kitchen Wall cloud copy of that content.
We use HTTPS for this website and standard hosting protections. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure; treat secret calendar addresses and album share links like passwords.

Because pairing data is ephemeral and we do not keep a lasting account database of your URLs, many requests are already satisfied when the session expires or you remove sources / the app. For anything still on our side (for example an active session or an email you sent), contact privacy@thekitchenwall.com. We will respond within the time required by applicable law (typically within one month under the GDPR).
We may need to verify your request is legitimate (for example, that it relates to a session or email we can identify). We will not discriminate against you for exercising privacy rights.
California and other US state laws may provide additional rights (such as to know or delete certain personal information). We do not sell personal information. To exercise applicable US state rights, use the same privacy contact.
The Kitchen Wall is meant for general audiences in a household setting. It is not directed at children under 13 (or under 16 where that is the digital consent age), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children on the pairing website. If you believe a child provided information through a pairing session or email, contact us and we will delete any remaining data we can identify.
We may update this page when the product or legal requirements change. The “Last updated” date at the top will change when we do. For material changes, we may also provide additional notice in the app or on the pairing site where appropriate. Continued use of the pairing site or app after an update means you accept the revised policy.
