Introduction:

There are 2 ways of cooking rice basically: Absorption or Draining. The authentic absorption method is detailed below but it's possible to drain as well.


Ingredients:

Preparation Time: 5min Cooking Time: 25min Serving: 4 Credit: Natco Online

Instructions:

  1. In a pan melt butter or ghee, add cumin, cloves, bayleaf, cinnamon and green cardamom.
  2. When they crackle add the sliced onion and saute until the onion is a little coloured.
  3. Add the washed and drained rice and saute for 2 minutes taking care that the rice does not break.
  4. Now add the water and salt and cook with a tight lid on top for 20-25 minutes on low heat, undisturbed.
